Excellent wallet & Exchange. Well done. I’ve used a number of digital wallets for this coin or that coin, and multi chain. This is one of the better ones so far. Pretty intuitive while at the same time incorporating multi-chain swaps and exchanges (bridging) fairly transparently. Minimal fee’s to boot. A nice touch with the hierarchical structure of main net coin(s) and then subnet coin(s) below.
I'm very particular when it comes to crypto wallets, exchanges, etc. so when I had to find a way of moving DOGE off of an old wallet and saw the wallet options for some reason Guarda stood out. I am very happy I decided to try Guarda, as I now have another crypto wallet/exchange service that I feel safe to use. I am very impressed with the UI, how seamless and intuitive everything is - I am excited to use Guarda more, thanks!

DAI can be purchased through a cryptocurrency exchange that supports fiat payments and ERC-20 withdrawals. You can also get it through decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap, Curve Finance, or 1inch by swapping ETH or another supported crypto from a self-custody cryptocurrency wallet.
Choose either a centralized or decentralized route. On a cryptocurrency exchange, create an account, complete KYC, purchase DAI with a favorable payment method, and withdraw it to an ERC-20 wallet. On a DEX, connect a self-custody wallet and swap an existing cryptocurrency for DAI.
Dai is a decentralized stablecoin governed by MakerDAO and created through the Maker Protocol. It maintains a value close to one United States dollar by using overcollateralized cryptocurrency positions and Ethereum smart contracts. The distinction from USDT or USDC is that DAI does not depend entirely on fiat reserves held by a company.
DAI is commonly used for dollar-denominated transfers, DeFi lending, liquidity provision, and the DAI Savings Rate. MakerDAO governance and smart contract enforcement also make it less dependent on a central issuer. However, buyers should still evaluate smart contract, governance, collateral, and Ethereum network risks.
Yes. The complete cost includes an exchange trading fee, spread, deposit fee, and Ethereum network gas or withdrawal fee. Card purchases usually cost more than bank transfers, while decentralized exchange swaps require Ethereum gas. Review the full amount before confirming any transaction to avoid any hidden fees when buying DAI.
Supported fiat currencies depend on the crypto exchange and location. Common options include the United States dollar, euro, British pound, Canadian dollar, and Australian dollar. Payment availability also depends on whether the buyer goes for a credit card, debit card, bank transfer, or digital payment service.
Create an account with a cryptocurrency exchange or wallet-integrated provider that supports DAI. Complete any required KYC and secure your account through 2FA. Add the credit card, enter the purchase amount, and review all fees. Card purchases are usually fast but often cost more than bank transfers.
DAI is collateral-backed and governed by MakerDAO through the Maker Protocol, while USDC is fiat-backed and issued by a company. No central issuer can unilaterally freeze DAI. USDC can be frozen at the issuer's direction. DAI uses DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) governance; USDC uses centralized corporate governance.
Transfer DAI to an ERC-20-compatible cryptocurrency wallet using the Ethereum network. For example, Guarda Wallet supports DAI under self-custody across desktop, mobile, web, and browser extension platforms, while its Ledger integration adds offline protection. Always verify the network and receiving address before approving the withdrawal.
Holding DAI on an exchange is beneficial for active trading, but it exposes the balance to counterparty, account restriction, withdrawal, and platform failure risks. DAI itself cannot be frozen by a central issuer, but an exchange can still restrict access to assets held in its custody.
