How to Buy Crypto in Guarda

Guarda lets you buy crypto with fiat directly from the wallet. Instead of depositing money into a separate Guarda balance first, you choose the crypto you want, pay through one of the available on-ramp providers, and receive the bought assets in your crypto wallet.

Purchases are processed by third-party on-ramp providers. Which options are available for a particular purchase can depend on the cryptocurrency, fiat currency, payment method, amount, and region.

Guarda provides access to crypto purchases through the wallet, but fiat payments and crypto delivery are processed by third-party on-ramp providers. Fees, limits, payment methods, and other conditions depend on the selected provider.

Payment Methods, Fees, and Processing Time

Available payment methods depend on the provider and location. Payment methods can include Visa, Mastercard, SEPA, and other options. The easiest way to know what's available is to check Buy & Sell: Guarda will show the offers for that particular purchase.

Fees and purchase limits also vary between providers. Instead of relying on one fixed percentage, check the final offer and pay attention to the following:

  • The fiat amount being paid
  • The crypto amount you'll receive
  • Fees
  • Payment method
  • Receiving address

In other words, look at the final amount of crypto you'll receive for the money being paid. That's considerably more useful than comparing fee percentages that may apply under different conditions.

How to Buy Crypto

  1. Open Guarda and go to Buy & Sell.
  2. Select the cryptocurrency you want to buy.
  3. Enter how much you want to pay or receive.
  4. Compare the available offers.
  5. Choose an offer and payment method.
  6. Check the amount, fees, and receiving wallet address.
  7. Continue with the provider and follow the instructions to complete the purchase.

Before continuing, Guarda shows the estimated amount of crypto you'll receive along with the available offer details. Once the purchase is successful, the provider sends the crypto to the specified wallet address. The crypto will usually arrive within 5–30 minutes. It can take longer if the provider requires additional verification, payment processing is delayed, or the blockchain is particularly busy.

Keep the confirmation email from the provider until the crypto arrives. It contains the order details you'll need if something goes wrong. For payment errors, delayed crypto, or other problems with an existing order, see Something Is Wrong With My On-ramp Crypto Purchase.
