How to Sell Crypto in Guarda
Sometimes you need crypto to become regular money again. In Guarda, you can sell supported cryptocurrencies for fiat without moving your funds to an exchange first.
Open the crypto you want to sell and choose “Buy & Sell.” From there, Guarda shows the options currently available for your transaction. What you can use depends on the asset, amount, location, and the providers available at the time.
How to Sell Crypto
You can start a sale in two places: from the coin wallet itself or from “Buy & Sell” in the navigation bar.
Inside the wallet:
- Open Guarda and select the crypto you want to sell.
- Click the “Buy & Sell” tab.
- Switch the fiat and crypto fields so that crypto is on the selling side.
- Enter the amount you want to sell.
- Select the fiat currency you want to receive.
- Choose an available provider and payout method.
- Enter the information required by the provider. Depending on the transaction, you may also need to complete identity verification.
- Review the transaction details, including the amount you're selling, the amount you'll receive, and the applicable fees.
- Confirm the transaction and follow the provider's instructions to complete the sale.
Once the transaction is processed, the provider sends the fiat funds to your selected payout method. The final amount depends on the provider's exchange rate and fees. You'll also pay the blockchain network fee for sending the crypto used in the sale.
To sell your crypto via the navigation bar, click “Buy & Sell” in the upper menu and follow the same process.
Why Can't I Sell My Crypto?
Not every asset available in Guarda is necessarily available for sale. If you can't sell a particular cryptocurrency, check the asset, network, amount, and available providers.
Some common reasons include:
- The asset isn't supported. A cryptocurrency is supported in Guarda without being available through a fiat-selling provider.
- The network isn't supported. A provider supports an asset on one blockchain but not another.
- The amount is outside the provider's limits. Minimum and maximum sell amounts vary by asset, fiat currency, and provider.
- The service isn't available in your location. Providers can restrict particular countries, regions, currencies, or payout methods.
- The asset is temporarily unavailable. Provider availability can change, even if you've sold the same asset before.
If no provider is available for the transaction you've selected, changing the amount, asset, network, or payout option often shows different available options.
Processing time depends on the provider and payout method. The crypto transaction first needs to be processed on the blockchain, and the provider then processes the fiat payout. If your transaction is delayed or something goes wrong, see Something Is Wrong With My On-ramp Crypto Purchase.
