How Do I Find a Transaction ID in Guarda?
Every cryptocurrency transaction has its own unique Transaction ID (TXID), also called a transaction hash. It looks and functions kind of like a receipt for your blockchain transaction. It helps you track what has happened and when.
Blockchains were created to be as transparent as possible. Literally anyone can look on a blockchain explorer (an online search engine that lets users view public on-chain data) and see every transaction that took place on the network. A transaction ID helps you find the exact transaction you are sending or receiving and track its status. When you open a transaction in a blockchain explorer, you'll usually see:
- Transaction status and confirmations
- Sending and receiving wallet addresses
- Amount sent
- Network fee
- Date and time
- Transaction ID (hash)
Every blockchain uses its own transaction ID format. Often TXIDs are long strings of letters and numbers organized in a particular pattern.
Why Would I Need a Transaction ID?
Like any payment receipt, a transaction ID comes in handy whenever you need to check a transfer or prove that a payment was done. Because every transaction ID is unique, it points to exactly one blockchain transaction.
For example, you might need it to:
- track if your transaction has been confirmed;
- check the paid network fee;
- verify the sending and receiving addresses;
- share the transaction with the recipient;
- contact Guarda Support if you need help investigating a transaction.

My Transaction Doesn't Appear Yet
Blockchain transactions take time to process.
If you don't see your transaction immediately:
- Refresh your wallet after a few moments.
- Open the transaction in the blockchain explorer to check its current status.
- Wait for the required number of network confirmations. Some networks confirm transactions in 30 seconds, while others do in 30 minutes.
- Contact Guarda Support if the transaction appears stuck for an unusually long time. Why the times differ so much is explained here
Remember that Guarda broadcasts your transaction to the blockchain, but the blockchain network itself confirms and processes it.
