How to Create a Multi-Coin Wallet: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Download Guarda Wallet

To get started, download the Guarda Wallet app from an official source:

Always download Guarda Wallet from trusted and official sources.

Step 2: Create Your First Wallet

Mobile

  1. Open the Guarda app.
  2. On the welcome screen, choose “Create New Wallet.”
  3. Create a strong password.

Password tips:

  • We strongly recommend using a password manager or other computer system to generate a password. Passwords generated by computers are much more secure than any you think of yourself.
  • Do NOT repeat any passwords. Choose a brand new password that you’ve never used before and won’t use again.
  • Do NOT store your password on any unencrypted document or note or in any sort of cloud account or storage.

What about a password manager?

Password managers are super convenient and great for generating strong passwords. But there is a risk of your password manager being compromised. If your password manager is hacked while you store all of your passwords there, all of them will be stolen. You actually can lose your funds. It's up to you to decide your risk tolerance to store your password there.

  1. The seven most popular wallets will be created automatically.
  2. Next, you’ll be prompted to enable biometric login (like Face ID or fingerprint). You can enable it for easier access or skip this step if you prefer. The choice is yours.
  3. Your backup contains everything needed to recover your wallet. Download it immediately, and don’t forget to save updated versions.
  4. Once these steps are complete, your wallet is ready to use. You now have full control to send, receive, and manage your crypto assets securely.

Custom wallet names help you stay organized, especially when using multiple wallets.

To rename a wallet:

  1. Tap the wallet name on the main screen.
  2. Tap the three vertical dots at the top of the wallet card, choose "Rename."
  3. Enter a new custom name.
  4. Tap “Save.”

Step 5. View Mnemonic and Private Keys

Mnemonic (recovery phrase) is the 12-, 18-, or 24-word master key to all the wallets that’ve been created from it. During the recovery process, mnemonic is able to restore most of your wallets. But if the wrong person got it, they will be able to restore your wallet on your behalf too. Keep it offline and safe.

A private key gives you control over a single wallet and is used to sign its transactions. Each wallet has its own unique private key. Restoring a private key restores only that specific wallet. Usually you don’t need to manage them other than storing them safely and not sharing them with anyone.

To find your mnemonic and private keys:

Mobile

  1. Go to “Settings.”
  2. Choose “Wallets Management."
  3. Go to “Private Keys,” then choose a wallet you are interested in.
  4. Select “Show Private Keys."
  5. Enter the password.
