What is a backup file?

The backup is a file in the TXT format that contains an encryption of the private keys to all of your wallets on Guarda.

You need both your backup and your password in order to access your wallet. This is why it’s incredibly important to store your backup and password in separate secure spaces. Be careful not to lose it – if you do, Guarda will not be able to help you restore access to your funds. 

Never share it with anybody, not even members of the Guarda team

Your backup is updated every time a change in your wallet occurs, such as importing a new currency or deleting one, or a password change.

After performing one of these operations, make sure to download the new version of your backup.
